PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lamp damage and the positional deviation of an optical system by surely regulating the turning operation of an optical system carriage due to the turning operation of an image reading scanner part. SOLUTION: This copying machine fixes to a front side a slide shaft 4 which pierces a piercing part 6a of an optical system carriage 6 in an image reading scanner part 3, made freely turnable with a rear side supporting point 14 as a center on the top surface of a printing part 2 and fixes a rail 5 abutting on the top surface of the rail 5, on which a sliding bearing 6b of the carriage 6 abuts to a rear side. In the case an image reading scanner part 3 is turned at a prescribed turning angle in the direction of the arrow A in the case of performing maintenance of the part 2, etc., the carriage 6 is prevented from turning in the arrow A direction because the shaft 4 pierced in the part 6a on the front side, even when inertial force in the arrow A direction is applied to the carriage 6 housed in the part 3.
