PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To temporarily mate a press ring with the given position of a cylindrical body without using a special member, such as a spacer, in a coupling for a flexible tube consisting of a corrugated pipe. SOLUTION: When a press ring 25 is temporarily screwed in a cylindrical body 11 with a corrugated pipe 2 insertable, the press ring is positioned in a state to be engaged with a protrusion 19 formed on the internal part of the cylindrical body 11. When, with a retainer 44 engaged with the corrugated pipe 2, the press ring 25 is further screwed in the cylindrical body 11, the protrusion 19 is deformed by the press ring 25 and further screwing of the press ring 25 is allowed. Through further screwing of the press ring 25, the crest part 4 of the tip of the corrugated pipe 2 is crushed between the retainer 44 and the contact surface 23 of the cylindrical body 11.
