PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp regulator having versatility capable of changing light quantity with adequate transient response in accordance with a scanning speed. SOLUTION: A voltage is supplied to an exposing lamp from the lamp regulator based on the indication of an outputted voltage value from a main body control part. When the indicated value from the main body control part is changed, a lamp regulator control part decides excessive variation (b) and excessive response time (c) based on the variation (a) of the indicated value and the scanning speed of the exposing lamp, and performs transient response control that the excessive variation (b) is superposed on the variation (a) of the outputted voltage indication to the exposing lamp for the excessive response time (c).
