The curved conductor (1) consists of hard copper, and has a recess (4) in at least one surface or side area (3a,3b). A connection element (5) passes through the recess for connection with a further coil arch. The recess has rectangular shape in the side areas so that a rectangular insertion opening is formed at the end of the coil arch. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a connection element for connecting curved conductors; (2) a method for combining ends of two curved conductors.
