A cardboard tray, primarily for display and sale of foodstuffs, having a base (1) and side walls (2-5), each of the side walls being connected to the base by way of a pair of fold lines (10, 11) which are substantially laterally spaced from each other centrally of the length of the wall but converge together and meet at the corners of the tray. The areas between the fold lines provide a transition between the planes of the side walls and the base, to help to prevent the walls from collapsing inwardly when the tray is shrink wrapped.
