The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition which contains at least one erythromycin fatty acid salt with between 12 and 22 carbon atoms in the fatty acid rest and a liquid or viscous excipient. The invention also relates to the use of said erythromycin fatty acid salts for the topical treatment of skin diseases, in particular acne. The above pharmaceutical composition is characterized by good stability even when stored for an extended period, good penetration into the skin and high skin tolerance.
