PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by dividing an electric carpet into plural heating areas, and automatically detecting whether a person stands on each area, and lowering the quantity of applied power. SOLUTION: A plurality of heaters 1A and 1B and a plurality of energization switching means 2A and 2B for switching energization are connected with each other, and the lines are connected from here to a commercial power source 3 through energization control means 4A and 4B, and the line is connected to a high frequency power source 5 through a high frequency impedance measuring means 6. The high frequency impedance measuring means 6 is connected with a judging means 7, and also the judging means 7 is connected to the energization switching means 2A and 2B and also the energization control means 4A and 4B. This carpet can perform the energization control in every heating area effectively by measuring the high frequency impedance individually by time division.
