PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and easily remove fine metal particles sticking to electrodes in a CRT by burning the particles through application of high voltage from a high voltage processing circuit when a resistance value between the electrodes is lower than a fixed value. SOLUTION: When the power of a CRT display device 110 is put on, a normal circuit 112 and a high voltage processing circuit 113 are separated from a CRT 111 by separation circuits 115, 117, and a resistance value between electrodes of the CRT 111 is measured by a resistance value measuring circuit 114. Then, when the value is smaller than a fixed value, it is determined that there is occurrence of erroneous display caused by fine metal particle sticking to the electrodes of the CRT 111, and a high voltage processing is applied thereto. Namely, the circuit 114 is separated from the CRT 111 by a separation circuit 116. Thereafter, the high voltage circuit 113 is connected to the CRT 111 by the separation circuit 117, and a high voltage is applied to between the electrodes of the CRT 111 so that the particles are burnt.
