A printing tape capable of being accurately positioned to an adherend and pasted positively in this positioned condition, and a tape cartridge therefor; a printing tape capable of being positively pasted to an uneven surface of an adherend with a good compatibility, and a tape cartridge therefor. The printing tape comprises a base layer having on the front surface thereof a printing surface, and an adhesion layer provided on the rear surface side of the base layer, wherein the adhesion layer consists of a heat-sensitive adhesion agent for delivering an adhesion power when heated to temperatures higher than room temperature, and the base layer consists of an expansible member having an expansibility, whereby ensuring an accurately-positioned pasting to an adherend and a smooth and positive pasting to a curved surface.
