PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently switch an antenna and to reduce the power consumption by turning off a power supply of a reception circuit to measure a reception level used for discrimination of antenna switching under a prescribed condition where no antenna switching is required. SOLUTION: The discrimination for antenna switching is not conducted under a prescribed condition where no antenna switching is required, and an antenna having been so far used is used as it is for the reception. For example, in the case that a reception level of an RX slot this time is higher than a prescribed threshold value and a signal error rate is smaller than a prescribed threshold value, the discrimination for antenna switching is not conducted for a succeeding LM slot and the antenna used for the RX slot this time is used for the succeeding RX slot. Then the power supply for a reception circuit and a demodulation circuit is turned off for the succeeding LM slot. The antenna switching is made efficient and the power consumption is reduced for a mobile phone radio unit adopting the antenna switching diversity. |
