PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically judge whether an object like a cartridge is placed at a prescribed position or not. SOLUTION: An automatic object detection system optically judges whether the object is placed at the prescribed position or not while using an image forming device. A target 270 is arranged on the reference surface of a mechanism for housing an object 600. The image forming device is arranged on the reference surface so as to prepare the image of the target 270. When the image forming device can prepare the image of the target 270, the automatic optical detection system judges the object is not placed between the target 270 and the image forming device and when the image forming device can not prepare the image of the target 270, it is judged the object is placed between the target 270 and the image forming device. |
