PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed belt for a load measuring pulley capable of measuring a load in the radial direction exerted on the top part of a toothed belt. SOLUTION: A pulley 3 for suspending the toothed belt is formed by alternatively placing a plurality of belt tooth parts 1 and tooth groove parts 2 on the outer circumference of the pulley 3. A measuring hole 4, where an end of the hole 4 is opened at a groove bottom of the groove parts 2, is formed in the pulley by curving it L-shaped. A measuring bar 7, which is formed L- shaped by curving by a load receiving piece 5 and a strain measuring piece 6, is placed in a the hole 4, and a strain gage 8 detecting a strain of the piece 6 is placed at the piece 6 with facing a top end of the piece 5 to an opening of the groove 2 of the hole 2. The strain measuring piece 5 is deflected to be deformed by press-fitting top parts of the belt tooth parts 1 to the top end of the piece 5 of the measuring bar 7 facing a bottom part of the tooth groove parts 2 when a belt tooth of a toothed belt is engaged with the tooth parts 1 to be fitted into the groove parts 2. A strain caused from this deflection can be detected by the strain gage 8.
