PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily extend mail generation, browsing and managing functions and to easily execute the expansion and reduction of these extended functions. SOLUTION: A core part 21 of a mail application 20 has a function for generating and transmitting/receiving a text of a text format. A plurality of add-in programs 30a to 30n are generated for each function and added in to a mail application body 20. An add-in detection part 25 retrieves a new add-in program 30 not registered in a list table 24. An add-in data retrieving part 26 selects a required add-in program 30 from the plurality of add-in programs 30a to 30n registered in the list table 24 upon receiving a mail. An add-in execution part 27 starts the add-in program 30 selected by the retrieval part 26 so as to read its contents. An add-in data generation part 28 selects and starts a suitable add-in program 30 at the generation of a mail to support the edition of the mail is generating.
