<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc oxide varistor superior in discharge endurance characteristic by improving bonding strength of a sintered body and a high resistance layer. SOLUTION: After a ceramic material, in which the main component is at least either of Al2O3 and SiO2 having inorganic high molecular structure and AlPO4 of 1.0-25.0 mol% is contained is spread uniformly on the side surface of a sintered body 1 whose main component is zinc oxide, hydrolytic curing is performed at 350 deg.C and a high resistance layer 2 as a lower layer is formed. A compound paste, composed of organic resin and inorganic filler, is spread on the surface of the high resistance layer 2 as the lower layer, a high resistance layer 3 as the upper layer is formed, and electrodes 4 are formed on both side surfaces, and a zinc oxide varistor is obtained.</p> |
