摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize illuminating light, to improve illumination efficiency and to make an illumination optical system compact by constituting at least partial beams of light of effective beams of light emitted from plural light source parts so that at least one part of the cross sectional areas of the partial beams of light may be superposed on each other. SOLUTION: An illuminator 10 is constituted by disposing light source parts 10A and 10B constituted of a light emitting body 4 consisting of a discharge tube such as a xenon lamp or a metal halide lamp and a reflector 1 consisting of a parabolic mirror symmetrically with respect to an optical axis by inclining them so that they may face to the inside. Then, the beams of light from two light source parts 10A and 10B are superposed each other on the 2nd fly-eye lens 11A of an integrator part 11 so as to form one spot. Namely, since the spot of the beam of light is made circular and the size thereof is made small, the illuminating light is uniformized and the illumination optical system is made excellent in the illumination efficiency and has compact constitution.</p>
