The traveler forked boom, for a yacht sail, holds the sail taut in each reefed and sailing setting. The reefing and rolling of the sail is unimpeded. On a change of tack, the boom and the fully extended Genoa line can be changed to the lee position in front of the mast. The traveler rides vertically on the forestay at the leading end of the forked boom, in front of the Genoa sail, to ride up and down.
