A liquid compsn. for the conversion of waste matls. e.g. lime-contg. minerals, solid wastes, industrial wastes e.g. sludges, sediments or bark from paper-mills, into useful products comprises a mixt. of a plastics emulsion, alkali (ne earth) metal-acetate, -sulphate, -thiosulphate, an Al cpd. water glass, water, with opt. perchloric acid or alum cpds. and if required kaolin or powdered slag matls.
