PURPOSE: A superimposed dialog signal OSD display control apparatus is provided to display superimposed dialog characters on a screen with a normal character size by recognizing the superimposed dialog characters for the superimposed dialog signals detected from image signals of a television broadcasting to convert them into an on-screen display(OSD) information. CONSTITUTION: A superimposed dialog signal on-screen display(OSD) control apparatus includes a controller(30) for controlling OSD characters corresponding to character recognition codes to be display on a screen instead of superimposed dialog signals. An OSD signal processor(34) receives a synchronization signal from the image signal depending on a main screen to perform a generation operation of OSD display information based on an image scanning period of the main screen and a sub-screen.
