PURPOSE: A backlight is provided to obtain a superior quality of an image having an uniform illumination by uniformly reflecting a light source transferred to a light guiding plate. CONSTITUTION: A backlight comprises a light guiding plate(10). An LCD displaying device(30) is fixed on a front portion of the light guiding plate(10). The light guiding plate(10) is manufactured by a flat plate having a thin thickness. A lower side(11) of the light guiding plate(10) has a flat shape and an upper side(12) thereof is tapered from both ends thereof to an inner center portion thereof. A reflecting portion(16) is formed at a slope portion of the light guiding plate(10). A light source of a light emitting member(40) is transferred to one side of the light guiding plate(10). The light source of the light emitting member(40) is refracted to a rear side of the LCD displaying section(30).
