A computerised payment system (10) for the distribution of data and/or the management of transactions accessible by a plurality of user callers (1, 2, ..., n) on the respective calling lines (L1, L2, ..., Ln) characterised in that it comprises: a database (14) containing a data transmission system for said callers (1, 2, ..., n) and a network interface (13) consisting of fixed "added value" voice telephonic network services to allow the access of said callers (1, 2, ..., n) to said database (14); said network interface (13) managing said calling lines (L1, L2, ..., Ln) according to a user charging criteria being associated to a timing module (15) to manage the access time according to the medium of payment previously chosen by the user who shall be equipped with a personal computer (11) and a modem (12) connected to a telephone line (L1, L2, ..., Ln).
