Mounting means whereby a disabled persons lift apparatus 12 of the kind including a vertically adjustable and articulated lifting arm (16 in figure 2) a free end of which is connected to a harness arrangement 20 capable of being fitted to a disabled person, can be fitted to a motor vehicle with hinged doors. So that the lift apparatus will not be a safety hazard within the vehicle the mounting means are constituted by a bracket 36 which can be hooked over the usual substantial door hinge elements of the vehicle when the door 10 has been opened. A foot element (52 in figure 5) may be provided to further stabilise the lift apparatus, and the spacing of hook members (46, 48 in figures 3 to 5) may be varied so that the lift apparatus may be used in more than one vehicle. |
