PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining post data for forming a separating MR image of water/fat having adjustable relaxation contrast. SOLUTION: Only water, or only fat contrast in an image is adjustable under control by an operator by an MRI method for obtaining post data for forming a water/fat separating MR image. At first, image data are obtd. by a single scan three-point Dixon sequence with a specified MR signal echo time TE. Lead-out inclined magnetic field pulse timing when MRI scan sequence is performed is selected based on difference in chemical shift between water and fat and oil in such a way that signals on water and fat make an angleπbetween them during interecho timeΔTE. Thereafter, the water/fat separating image whose contrast is changable is formed by reprocessing of the image data obtained by using the value of contrast echo time, newTE being different by selection of the operator when modification for relaxation is performed.
