PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deciding method of a slab width, with which the number of heats in a sequence casting as the unit of a kind of steel are maximized while adopting the castable max. width as large as possible and the cast efficiency of a continuous caster can be improved. SOLUTION: In the case of deciding the slab width corresponding to an individual order in the order group collected in the same kind of steel, the target value of each slab width is made to the castable max. width of each slab. When the width of the successively cast slab in the case of setting as the castable max. width, exceeds the max. width changing amountαduring casting in the one heat in the continuous caster, the width of the successively cast slab is decided as in the range of the castable max. width and the castable min. width of the slab and the max. width changing amountαor less.
