PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a leader from becoming unusable by entangling or becoming like a dumpling state caused by a wind, etc. on winding up and placing the leader as a ring like state at feet for checking a bait or supplementing scattering baits while fishing on a boat. SOLUTION: This device for temporarily winding up a leader has a protrusion 3 for hitching the leader 2 at the almost central part of a leader winding up part 1 in its longitudinal direction and a means 4 for rotating the winding up part at the one end of the leader winding up part 1, and is fixed in parallel at the edge of a boat by a fixing means 6 for temporarily winding up or releasing the part of the leader by rotating the leader winding up part 1.
