CHLOROPRENE LATEX COMPOSITION, ITS PREPARATION THEREOF, AND ADHESIVE COMPOSITION USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chloroprene latex composition which is suitable as an aqueous adhesive containing no organic solvent and has an excellent balance between water resistance and adhesive performance. SOLUTION: This chloroprene latex composition is obtained by polymerizing 100 pts.wt. of chloroprene and from more than 0 to less than 2 pts.wt. of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of from 0.5 to 10 pts.wt. of a polyvinyl, alcohol, and it has a gel content of the chloroprene polymer of from more than 10 wt.% to not more than 70 wt.%. A preparing process of the chloroprene latex composition comprises a polymerization of 100 pts.wt. of chloroprene and from more than 0 pts.wt. to less than 2 pts.wt. of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of from 0.5 to 10 pts.wt. of polyvinyl alcohol, with the obtained chloroprene-based polymer having a gel content of from more than 10 wt.% to not more than 70 wt.%.
