PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove bubbles exerting adverse effect on a printing grade by making the shape or vol. of a liquid chamber constituting mechanism variable in connection with the suction operation of a printer main body. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printing head, a common liquid chamber 9 communicating with an ink emitting orifice 4 and an ink supply port 8 is formed between a substrate 6 and an emitting plate 5. The common liquid chamber 9 is filled with a sufficiently large amt. of ink as compared with an ink droplet 10 to be emitted and air dissolved in ink is eluted by the heat generated by the driving of an emitting energy generating element and a staying bubble 11 can be held in a stagnation port. The common liquid chamber 9 is compressed by the pressing force of the suction recovery cap of a printer main body and the staying bubble is sucked out along with ink in such a state that the stagnation part of an ink flow is eliminated. By this constitution generating a change so as to eliminate the stagnation part and main body recovery operation, necessary waste ink quantity can be minimized.
