METHOD FOR CONTROLLING STOP OF COILING OF STEEL SHEET IN COIL BOX

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly implement the peeling work during the uncoiling operation and to attain the continuous operation by adding the most projecting position of a steel plate to the signal value at the time a rear end portion of a roughly-rolled steel sheet passes through a final stand and passes a tracking sensor on the inlet side of a coil box for positional correction, and controlling the stop of the coil box in the final coiling operation. SOLUTION: The information on the shape referred to as a fish tongue of a rear end portion of a sheet bar 2, dimension and length of a longest end from the center of a steel sheet is obtained on the basis of the measurement value of the shape of a sheet bar shape detector 13 provided on the outlet side of the final stand of a rough rolling mill 1. The stop of a coil box in the final condition is controlled by a shape computing element 15 which corrects the position by adding the information on the passage of the rear end position of the steel sheet at the line center position at which the rear end portion of the sheet bar 2 passes through the final stand of the rough rolling machine and passes through a tracking sensor 14 provided on the inlet side of the coil box 4 to the most projecting position of the sheet bar calculated from the data on the sheet bar shape.
