PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen a bending moment to be generated in a pile head, by cutting off a foundation slab from a pile and providing a slide bearing in between the upper face of the pile and the underface of the foundation slab. SOLUTION: A building 2 erected on a soft ground 1 has such a structure as a foundation slab 6 composed of a footing 4 and foundation beams 5 is supported by horizontal resistance piles and support piles 9. The horizontal resistant piles and support piles 9 are driven into a bearing ground 7. The horizontal resistance piles are tightly fastened to the footing 4 arranged at the periphery of the building 2 to bear the vertical load and the horizontal load and the suppor piles 9 are provided in the footing 4 disposed inside of the building 2 to bear the vertical load. The support piles 9 are cut off from the footing 4 by a slide bearing 10 as a support plate 12 provided with steel balls rotatable on the upper face to form a condition that the footing 4 is installed on the steel balls 11. The support pile slides in an arbitry direction on the underface of the footing 4 when the support pile is subjected to a horizontal force such as an earthquake or the like and the horizontal force is attenuated on account thereof to decrease a bending moment brought in the pile head 12. As a result, the diameter of the support pile 9 can be reduced to a size enough to support only the vertical load.
