PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a test pattern with which a color shift can be visually detected highly accurately in a process of correcting the color shift caused by a difference in output characteristic of recording heads of a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: Each patch of a test pattern is constituted of two divided adjoining areas, and one area (upper part) is made a test area for detecting a color shift degree in which C and M gradation values among C, M, Y and K gradation values as patch record data are changed. The other area is made a reference area for expressing achromatic colors as a detection reference. C, M, Y and K gradation values are set so that a spatial frequency of dots to be formed in the reference area in each patch becomes close to a spatial frequency of the corresponding test area. |
