PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distillation apparatus effective for the energy conservation of an industrial plant. SOLUTION: The light oil distilled out of the midway portion of an atmospheric pressure distillation tower 24 is utilized as the heating medium of a reboiler 16 and the tower bottom of a debutanizer 26 is heated to separate butane and propane. Further, the heat energy of the light oil is utilized to drive a refrigerating mechanism 18 and a cooling medium of -40 deg.C is supplied to a condeser 20 to condense propane distilled out of the tower top of the debutanizer 26.
