PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove dirt over a long period from a sanitary ware without causing appearance defectiveness of the ware by forming a first glaze layer containing a pigment(s) and/or an emulsifying agent on the surface of an earthenware body for the sanitary ware with a wet spray method, thereafter forming a second glaze layer on the first glaze layer with a dry spray method and firing the resulting earthenware body at a specified temperature. SOLUTION: This production process comprises: coating the surface of an earthenware green body 1 for a sanitary ware with a first glaze raw material by a wet spray method, to form a colorable first glaze layer 2 on the surface of the body 1, wherein the first glaze raw material is obtained by mixing a mixture of natural mineral particles with a pigment(s) and/or an emulsifying agent and if necessary, grinding them, with a ball mill or the like; then forming a transparent second glaze layer 3 containing no pigment and no emulsifying agent on the first glaze layer 2 by a dry spray method, wherein the raw material of the second glaze layer 3 is obtained by mixing a mixture of natural mineral particles with 50 to 99 wt.% of an amorphous glaze and if necessary, grinding them, with a ball mill or the like; thereafter firing the body 1 provided with the first and second glaze layers 2 and 3 at 1,000 to 1,300 deg.C to bond the two glaze layers 2 and 3 to the body 1 and to produce the objective sanitary ware having a <=0.07μm or preferably <=0.05μm surface roughness value (Ra) measured with a contact type surface roughness measurement instrument (specified in JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards) B 0651 or other equivalent standards).
