PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkles from being formed on a plate-shaped molded item and to easily release the item from a mold, in a device for molding a synthetic resin molded item from a molten resin sheet. SOLUTION: The device for molding a molded item of synthetic resin includes a lower mold 10 having a molding surface 11 having a peripheral surface 11a around itself and protrusions 10a, 10b, 10c protruding upward from the surface 11a, and a feed die 35 to extrude a molten resin sheet 30m onto the lower mold 10. A supporting plate 12 having a support surface 12a extending outward from a side surface of the lower mold, at a location beside the protrusions, at a height corresponding to the protrusions, to support a part of the periphery of the molten resin sheet is attached to at least one of side surfaces 10e of the lower mold so as to be parallel to the moving direction of the die 35. A second support plate 13 having a support surface 13, which extends outward at a height equal to or higher than the peripheral surface of the lower mold to support the remainder of the periphery of the resin sheet, may be attached to the remainder of the side surface of the lower mold.
