PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress leakage of cutting liquid from a valve means after the supply of cutting liquid from a cutting liquid supply pump is stopped and to reduce delay in time from the start of cutting liquid supply to the generation of mist when the supply of cutting liquid by the cutting liquid supply pump is started again. SOLUTION: In a machine tool provided with a valve means 23 which supplies cutting liquid to a mist generation device 13 in a tip part of a main spindle 8 from a cutting liquid supply pump 4 through a cutting liquid supply line 7 and is closed when a pressure of cutting liquid in the cutting liquid supply line 7 drops below a fixed value in a cutting liquid flow-in part of the mist generation device 13, a cutting liquid suction and discharge means 2 which sucks a fixed amount of cutting liquid in the cutting liquid supply line 7 when the supply of cutting liquid by the cutting liquid supply pump 4 is stopped and supplies a fixed amount of cutting liquid into the cutting liquid supply line 7 when the supply of cutting liquid by the cutting liquid supply pump 4 is started is provided.
