PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding system with pasting corresponding to variable pages which is excellent in productivity and reliability, on the occasion of manufacturing slips or the like whereon individual information is printed and which have pages in numbers different according to customers. SOLUTION: Sheetlike paper from the paper 30 to be the last page of slips or the like to that to be a front cover is carried sequentially from a sheet feeder 40 by a feeding belt 20 and individual information is printed sequentially on the separate sheetlike paper. An identification mark is printed, together with the individual information, on the paper to be the front cover which is carried lastly and one side of the sheetlike paper except that to be the front cover is pasted linearly by a pasting device 50. The identification mark printed on the paper to be the front cover is read for identification by a reading sensor 50 and pasting is stopped for this identified paper through the intermediary of a pasting control device 52. The sheetlike paper from the linearly pasted paper for the last page to that for the front cover for which the linear pasting is stopped are stacked sequentially in a stacker 70 and pressing is applied thereto in a stage wherein the slips or the like in prescribed numbers for a booklet have been stacked.
