METHOD FOR THE DEHYDRATION OF ETHYL ALCOHOL

By the method absolute ethyl alcohol is produced which finds application in organic synthesis for turning out of pharmaceutical preparations, in electronics and in some specialized types of production. The dehydration is effected by heat treatment of natural zeolite in liquid phase and simultanous duplicate distillation of the mixture in equipment with batch operations at atmospheric pressure. In the second distillation absolute ethyl alcohol is produced with water content from 0.2 to 0.01%.
