<p>N-benzyl-pyrazole carboxylic acid derivatives of formulae (I) and (XIII) and their salts are new. Ar1 = 2-g2,3-g3,4-g4,5-g5,6-g6-phenyl; Ar2 = 2-w2,3-w3,4-w4,5-w5,6-w6-phenyl; X1 = NR1R2 or OR2; g2-g6, w2-w6 = H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, CF3 or nitro, provided that at least one of g2-g6 and at least one of w2-w6 are other than H; R1 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R2 = non-aromatic 3-15C carbocycle, optionally substituted by one or more halo or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; R3 = H or CH2R6; R4, R5 = H, 1-4C alkyl or CF3; or R4 = H; and R5+w6 = ethylene or trimethylene; R6 = H or, when at least one of g2-g6 is other than 1-4C alkyl, also may be 1-4C alkyl, F, OH, 1-5C alkoxy, 1-5C alkylthio, 1-5C hydroxyalkoxy, CN, 1-5C alkylsulphinyl or 1-5C alkylsulphonyl.</p> |
