PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film for a transfer sheet hard to generate the cutting of a release layer even if the deformation of the transfer sheet is large while keeping the releasability of the release layer, and the transfer sheet using the same. SOLUTION: In a release film for a transfer sheet wherein a release layer is provided on at least the single surface of a substrate film, the release layer is based on a mixed resin of 90-20 pts.wt. of a thermosetting resin and 10-80 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin and the number of recessed parts with a depth of 0.05μm or less generated in the release layer at a time of 100% deformation is 100/cm2 or less.
