PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear suspension of motorcycle free of any restriction on the rear arm arrangement, simplify and reduce the weight of the component parts, and assuring a wide degree of freedom for designing. SOLUTION: A rear suspension is composed of first rear arms 3 and second rear arms 4 in pairs up and down, a rear axle holding member 5, link mechanism 11, and spring damper unit 12, whereby the rear wheel 1 is suspended rotatably and capable of moving in the vertical direction. The first rear arms 3, second rear arms 4, and rear axle holding member 5 work as a link mechanism, and the rear wheel 1 moves in the vertical direction. The track of the rear axle 6 vertical motions is decided by the positional relationship between the first rear arms 3, second rear arms 4, and the rear axle holding member 5. Because the force of the rear wheel 1 vertical motions is transmitted from the link mechanism 11 coupled with the rear axle holding member 5 to the spring damper unit 12, no bending moment is generated in the first rear arms 3 and second rear arms 4.
