PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potato planting machine designed to narrow the width of the machine body through a specific construction so as to improve operating speed and operating efficiency. SOLUTION: This potato planting machine 1 having the function to successively carry seed potatoes through a belt conveyor 2 transversely stretched out long and drop them at specified intervals from the bottom of the machine body on to the field, is designed to narrow the width of the machine body by making the belt conveyor 2 bendable midway; wherein a stationary frame is mounted on the machine body so as to be nearly rectangular to the advancing direction thereof, a mobile frame is axially supported on the tip of the stationary frame so as to be vertically swingable, a holding means for holding, straight-line- fashion, both the mobile frame and the stationary frame so as to be out of actuation at any time needed, the basal end portion of the stationary frame is provided with a wheel for driving a belt, the tip of the mobile frame is provided with a pulley in a rotatable manner, and the belt is set up over the span between the pulley and the wheel, thus affording a structure of the bendable belt conveyor.
