PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a separating agent for optical isomer, capable of performing the optical resolution of a compound having acidic functional group and basic functional group and difficult to be resolved by conventional technique and suitable for reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography by supporting a polymeric compound having asymmetric structure on the side chain with a carrier. SOLUTION: A polymeric compound having an asymmetric structure such as optically active (S)-methylbenzyl carbamate on the side chain e.g. a polysaccharide derivative such as an amylose derivative is supported on a carrier such as a silica gel surface-treated with a silylating agent having an aralkyl group (e.g. 3-phenylpropyldimethyl chlorosilane) Preferably, the particle diameter of the silica gel is 50-5,000 Å, the number-average molecular weight of the polysaccharide is >=10 and, although there is no particular restriction on the upper limit of the molecular weight, it is <=500 from the viewpoint of easy handleability. |
