JOINING METHOD OF METALLIC FOIL AND ULTRASONIC WELDING TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ultrasonic joining method capable of joining extremely thin metallic foils each other with satisfactorily high mechanical strength and a ultrasonic welding tool suitable to it. SOLUTION: Two sheet of metallic foils being an object to be joined are superposed so that prearranged joining portions are matched to each other and are held between a pair of ultrasonic welding tools wherein resin made films are interposed in both sides of the joining portion and moreover plural projecting parts are arranged so as to line up on the surface of at least either one side, thereafter ultrasonic vibrations are imparted to the ultrasonic welding tools to weld the metallic films each other, further the ultrasonic vibrations are continued, the metallic foils of the part corresponding to the projecting parts are removed to open windows by the plastic flow of metal, and the resin films facing the windows are welded each other.
