PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the mammalian cells that express the thyroid hormone receptor gene and can be used for evaluation of the action of chemical substances on the transcription control of the thyroid hormone receptor by transducing a specific DNA into the chromosome. SOLUTION: The objective cells (A) can express the thyroid hormone receptor gene and (B) is prepared by transducing the following DNAs into the chromosome, including (i) the reporter gene that is functionally linked to the downstream of the transcription control region constituted with the thyroid hormone receptor recognition sequence and the estrogen receptor recognition sequence for thyroid hormone receptorαor thyroid hormone receptorβor the like and with the minimum promoter, for example, a promoter substantially comprising the TATA box, and (ii) the cell selection marker gene that is functional in the mammalian cells on the same molecule.
