<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a use amount of toner or ink by a method wherein a function of a resource saving mode for saving a use amount of toner or the like is provided and a thinning operation for reducing the number of pixels in a width of an image to be printed. SOLUTION: In this method, print data is sequentially divided into four data lines 30a-30d. An output of a flipflop 217 of a data mask circuit 21 is switched, the data line to be masked is switched. When a toner save register 22 is set so as to make a signal (a) to be at the 'H' level, a data thinning circuit 20 can be operated. A signal (b) is switched from the 'L' level to the 'H' level by an initializing signal of the data mask circuit 21 upon starting of the operation thereof.</p> |
