PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize restraint of progress of abrasion at a low cost as well as to effectively restrain progress of abrasion of a rolling element and a track surface even in the case of using a direct acting device for a machinery to be used for a long period of time in small oscillation or at extremely low speed such as a die-sinking electric discharge working machine, a wire cutting working machine, etc. SOLUTION: A direct acting device is constituted by furnishing a guide member having a rolling element rolling groove and extending in a straight line and a movable body having a rolling element rolling groove opposed to the rolling element rolling groove of the guide member, guide by the guide member through rolling of a large number of the rolling elements inserted between these rolling element rolling grooves and to move in a straight line. As the rolling elements, alloy steel made of alloy elements containing 0.6-1.3 weight % of C, 8-20 weight % of Cr and the rest of Fe and the others.
