PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop cock that not only facilitates mounting of seat packing but also has high reliability. SOLUTION: This stop cock 30 includes a spindle 31 having both a feed screw part 60 threadably engaged with the internal thread 17 of a water feeding apparatus 10 and a shank 50 coaxial with the feed screw part 60, and seat packing 70 attached to the spindle 31 to open and close the valve opening 16 of the water feeding apparatus 10. The feed screw part 60 and the shank 50 are formed integrally to constitute the spindle 31 and the seat packing 70 is provided with a through hole 71 into which the spindle 31 is inserted from the shank 50. The shank 50 has a smaller diameter than the feed screw part 60 and a stepped part 33 is provided at the boundary between the shank 50 and the feed screw part 60. A fixing member 79 may be attached to the shank 50 and the seat packing 70 may be clamped by the fixing member 79 and the stepped part 33.
