PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a material having wear resistance to lump ores and remarkably improved wear resistance of liners, plates, or the like, utilized for equipment for treating lump ores and powder. SOLUTION: This material has a compsn. consist of, by weight, 2 to 6% C, 0.3 to 3% Si, 0.3 to 3% Mn, 15 to 35% Cr, 2 to 10% Mo, 2.5 to 10% V, <=10% W, <=10% Ni, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurity elements and satisfying the inequality of -2<= C-(0.099Cr+0.063Mo+0.033W+0.236V)}. Moreover, the above elements are added with one or >= two kinds among the three kinds of 0.5 to 5% Nb, 0.5 to 5% Ti and 0.5 to 5% Zr, and the inequality of -2 C-(0.099Cr+0.063Mo+0.033W+0.236V+0.129Nb+0.25lTi+0.132Zr)}<=2 is satisfied.
