PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight protective hat excellent in waterproof measure in raining weather, etc., and further improved in air permeability. SOLUTION: Since a front vent hole 12 and a rear vent hole 13 are opened to the outside air, the outside air communicates with the interior of a flow passage 21 and stuffy air which stays in the interior of a hat body 10 which communicates with the flow passage 21 by an opening 22 is sucked into outside air stream in the flow passage 21 and the air is raised from the opening 22 as shown in the dashed line B and accompanied by the outside air stream and discharged to the outside of the hat body. Rain water penetrated into the flow passage 21 is made to flow down along the inclination of a discharge passage 25 and discharged from a front discharge port 14 to the outside.
