SURFACE HARDENING METHOD OF GEAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance pressure-resistance and life by improving a quenching hardening processing of a gear surface made of a steel material. SOLUTION: An outline high frequency quenching processing is applied to a gear manufactured by a machine processing to form a cured layer on a surface. Thereafter, a shot peening processing divided to first and second stages is applied. A large residual compression stress is caused on a cured layer existing immediately below the gear surface and pressure-resistance and life of the gear are enhanced.
