PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a person from inserting his/her hand into a crushing chamber by mistake during operation, and also to make safe the inspection in the crushing chamber and the removing work of caught garbage to prevent an accident of a child inserting his/her hand. SOLUTION: In a disposer constituted so that a hand can be inserted into a crushing chamber 3 from a feeding port 2, a protector 11 provided with a holding piece 12 engaged with the edge of the feeding port 2 and a baffle member 15 that the hand inserted from the feeding port hits to stop its insertion is attachably and detachably fitted to the inside of the feeding port 2. The inserted hand hits the baffle member 15 to prevent it from being inserted into the crushing chamber 3. When a hand is required to be inserted into the crushing chamber 3, by pulling out the protector 11, the recognition of a power source is awakened. Further, it can be automatically turned off.
