SOLUTION: The belt type oil and water separating and recovering apparatus is equipped with a belt with teeth 2 having inner teeth 11 provided to the inner surface thereof at a predetermined interval and having an oil adsorbing portion 12 provided to the outer surface thereof, a pulley with teeth 3 having outer teeth 21 meshed with the inner teeth 11 and rotationally driven to allow the toothed belt 2 to run and a scraper 31 scraping off the oil adsorbed on the oil adsorbing part 12 and the predetermined interval (P×α) of the inner teeth 11 is made twice the predetermined interval (P) of the outer teeth 21 to widen the smooth parts 53 between the inner teeth.
